It is now fact that 50%+ of your website visitors will come from smartphones and tablets and why we design all websites to be fully-responsive to tablet PC’s and smartphones. Plus the fact that search engines like Google will increase your website exposure if website is fully responsive!

There are many different methods which can be used to update websites. The method you choose and the functionality we build into your website design is solely up to yourself and your budget restrictions. Of course, Yucatan Design is always available to help you with any future additions and changes you would like. We will be glad to advise you which method will suit your needs.

If you have a small website consisting of just a few pages and will only wish to make changes very infrequently, then usually it is more cost effective simply to ask Yucatan Design to carry out these changes for you. Other methods which are frequently chosen are largely dependent upon how much data or information and pictures you have and how you store this information at present.

We can provide an on line content management system where you can either update individual products/pages/services or particular sections of your website. e.g. company news.

Alternatively we can provide functionality such that you can upload your entire product ranges to the website in one action using spreadsheets etc. We can also add databases if you wish.

This will depend upon the amount of information you wish to be displayed on your website. If you have many products/services, then it may be advantageous to have a database incorporated into your website design. We will discuss this in detail with you and if a database is advised we will explain in detail exactly how this will work and the any costs associated with this.

No. We discuss with you your website requirements and then price accordingly and once you have placed an order for your website design with us, we work hard so that the outlined price quote is strictly adhered to. Web design is very much an evolutionary process and often clients change the scope of a project once underway.  If the need to alter the price quote arises, we will communicate this to you before any extra work is started. I changes and/or additions are requested by the client additional costs will be agreed to.

It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form – for example, the files output by a digital camera and the copy in MS word, PDF or similar format. If this is not possible, we can help get your information ready for use on the website. We will also provide you instructions on how to upload the material via FTP or email.

Yucatan Design offers three options for maintaining and refreshing your site content. We don’t care which option you choose, but we strongly encourage you to update your site regularly.

• The Pay as You Go Plan: Call us when you need to add to or make a change to your content. We’ll complete your request within 48 hours, and bill you at our standard hourly rate. Urgent requests can generally be completed within a few hours for an additional charge.

• Ongoing Maintenance Plan: Sign up for one of our ongoing maintenance plans, and you’ll receive a discount on our standard rates.

• Content Management System (CMS):  Purchase a Content Management System from Yucatan Design and make all the changes you want. Perfect if your site requires frequent updates.

In general, we don’t recommend the use of templates, but they may be appropriate in certain situations. For example, if you absolutely must have a site launched within the space of a few days, or if you are on an especially limited budget, a template might be an acceptable short-term solution. However, these instances should be the exception rather than the rule for these reasons:

1. Most templates do not conform to important usability and search engine guidelines. If you’re not meeting the needs of your users, or if the search engines can’t easily index your site, then you’ll simply be wasting your valuable time and money with this approach.

2. Most templates do not lend themselves to quick or easy modification. If you require design modifications, it’s important to understand that they can substantially increase your total cost.

3. Templates purchased from the major online vendors may be used hundreds or even thousands of times, even by your own competitors. A cookie cutter design doesn’t attract much lasting attention. Good design is a reflection of your business, your strategy and your audience.

Yes. Our web design and development service includes configuration of your email accounts, detailed monthly traffic reports and basic search engine optimization services. Basic SEO includes submission of your site to the major search engines, and the setup of your primary metatag information (Page Title, Description and Keywords). Additionally, your site is built from the ground up with search engine friendly technologies and methods.

We fully support any website we design and are always available should you encounter any problems or require any enhancements. We offer web site maintenance, web hosting, seo and marketing, domain registration and graphic design and print. We have you covered!

We give as much latitude as we possibly can. After you’ve identified the general format and color schemes of your preferred design, we’ll complete up to 2 rounds of major revisions at no charge. All minor revisions are provided at no charge.

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. We build your website on our development server, and provide you with a username and password so that you can log in and monitor the progress of your site. During this phase, we encourage your feedback if something isn’t quite the way you envisioned it or if you’ve changed your mind. Once your site is ready and you have provided your approval, we release it live on your server and submit your URL to the major search engines.

We specialize in XHTML, CSS and Flash, JavaScript, DHTML, XML, PHP, and others. Although it’s unlikely, if there’s something we can’t solve, we can reach out to our network of partners for additional services (at no additional cost to you).

All of our websites are designed around Google’s guidelines for organic SEO. In addition to having a search engine friendly website, we will create a sitemap.xml file and submit it to Google and Bing upon launch if you’ve purchased an all inclusive package. We will also create a 301 redirect file to help the search engines and visitors find the new pages based on the older pages that are already indexed.

The beauty of Drupal, WordPress and Joomla based websites is the ease of use it provides. Each all inclusive website design project will include four hours of website administration training, so that our clients become more than capable of updating and adding website pages as required. Since some clients do not want to maintain their own websites, we offers ongoing maintenance packages. If you want training and you didn’t purchase an all inclusive package, we’re happy to provide training at our standard hourly rate of 400 pesos an hour.

This question is difficult to answer since this varies greatly by client. A custom microsite can take as little as two to four weeks and a large, complex B2B website can take one to three months. Similar to costing, the timeframe for implementation varies on complexity and the number of web pages and blog posts. If client is responsive to required information to design website, the sooner the website will be completed.

We accept company check, bank transfer, cash and/or credit cards. All finalized projects require a down payment of 50% to start.

We offer Drupal, Joomla and WordPress coders who are experts with StudioPress, ElegantThemes, ThemeForest and Themify. We assist our clients with Drupal, Joomla and WordPress installation, theme configurations, customizations, and plugin support. Whether you bought one of our premium Drupal or WordPress themes or a StudioPress theme, we can help you customize your site.

Websites are quoted as a fixed bid project. The cost structure is based on the package selected, the complexity of functionality, the size of the website, and the need for marketing support such as search engine optimization, e-commerce, copy-writing, and social media integration. Every project is unique and we try to make sure our pricing is based on your specific needs and not what we think the market will tolerate.
